UPDATE:

DETROIT -- Only a half-game separates the Detroit Tigers and the Chicago White Sox with nine games to go.

By the end of tonight, the two could be tied atop the AL Central.

September baseball. Gotta love it.

Anibal Sanchez takes the mound tonight for the Tigers, and he'll square off against Kansas City's Bruce Chen in a rematch of last month's pitchers' duel. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.

Chen got the better of Sanchez in the first go-around, giving up only four hits in eight innings en route to a 1-0 win Aug. 29. Sanchez, equally as impressive, gave up only one run on seven hits over seven innings.

What will happen tonight?

Join tonight's blog at 7:05 p.m. for live updates and analysis as the Tigers try move into a first-place tie, while Miguel Cabrera continues his bid for the coveted Triple Crown.
