Nayanthara comes for Valaipechu! Shots fired with the three monkeys!

Tamil star actress Nayanthara recently broke her streak of not giving interviews, when she sat down with The Hollywood Reporter India's Anupama Chopra for a 1 hour and 35 minute tête-à-tête. While she spoke on a variety of topics including her rift with star actor Dhanush over the Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale, Nayanthara also took a massive jab on notorious Tamil YouTube channel 'Valaipechu'.

Taking a question on how negative or harsh it gets in the Tamil (film) ecosystem, Nayanthara said, "It is pretty harsh but sometimes it is a little funny also. The general criticism and the trolling are there, but there are also these very very very very funny YouTubers who have no other job but to just gossip about the film industry, or the people in the film industry who actually have a job."

Pivoting to the 'Valaipechu' YouTube channel, Nayanthara continued, "When the documentary controversy happened, there was this conversation about we are making money out of this Netflix docu why can't I give Rs. 10 Cr. to so & so (Dhanush). But that was never the point*. Me making money or him making money was never the point here. They have not understood the case at all and they are just randomly talking about it. We have some general classier critics, they have a justified version of it, or they have actually done their homework, or they don't take sides. They usually talk correctly. But there are these three people, they are very very funny. I'm sure you don't know them because they are not that big."

*Nayanthara before this explained in the same interview that after Dhanush remained unwilling to give NOC to Naanum Rowdy Dhaan footages, music or lyrics, or get on a call with the actress to reason out why he turned sour towards Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan, the couple decided to use the BTS footages shot on their personal devices in the Netflix documentary. She said that 10 years ago, behind-the-scenes were not part of copyright contracts. They were taken aback by Dhanush's legal notice of Rs. 10 Cr. only because they didn't expect someone 'sorted' or of a particular stature to be looking for reasons to extend an already existing feud.

Elaborating on her disdain of 'Valaipechu', Nayanthara added, "They have always been talking about me. If they've done 50 episodes, 45 would be on me. There came a time when I actually inquired on why are they picking on me..They said 'if we take her name we get a lot of views and that is how we make money'..For them to talk about me making money or Dhanush making money or anybody else making money, is so funny because they are actually the ones who are making money out of gossiping about people."

Nayanthara didn't hold back firing shots at the three hosts of the Valaipechu channel when she said, "When I see them you know what I feel? We know we talk about these three monkeys where they don't hear bad, they don't see bad, and they don't talk bad.. These three guys are just the opposite of these three monkeys. They only talk bad. They only see bad. They only hear bad. They are the visual representation of what you are not supposed to be. I don't know how to say what their name is, I think I'm making them extremely famous. Its called gossip talk or something like that, some Pechu in Tamil."

Nayanthara concluded, "They are funny people. They are making money out of gossiping about people. They are not to be taken seriously. And they would talk as if they are sitting right here. And there are episodes where one of those guys, somebody has asked him something about my journey or something, and he has spoken like he was my dad. And he was right there on the flight or on the bus or whatever it is. They speak like they were right there. And none of it is true. Atleast you should do your homework, get your facts checked right And they have a lot of viewers who are as funny as them. Like no one who is serious and brainy enough watches their stuff on YoutTube but people like them (Valaipechu) definitely watch, and they get a lot of views out of that..Sometimes its funny, sometimes it is a little hurting."
