The Camp comprises of a number of accomodation facilities, cabins, bunk and dormitory rooms. The camp offers spartan facilities aimed at youth and sports groups, with mattresses only provided within four person bunk rooms.
The 'Top Camp' comprising of the Top House, Main Kitchen and Dining room, upstairs dormitory and cabins can accommodate 65 people. The 'Lake House' with kitchen and outdoor deck BBQ area can accommodate 45 people. If both camps are utilised then 110 people can be accommodated.
The Camp has been developed over a number of years to cater for youth, clubs and teams that require a no-frills practical camp that allows them maximum time on the water. The Mangakino Water Sports Camp has become a second home for a number of groups and has had its fair share of international representatives pass through the facility.
Along with rowers, the venue also welcomes other water sports, budget weddings, family reunions, religious groups, Maori unveilings and group functions.
It is a special quiet place, that allows people to focus in a pleasant cost effective environment.
The main dining room is open on one side during the summer and closed with a yellow canvas in the winter. The area is served by a large kitchen with a walk in chiller, freezer and gas ranges and ovens.
We also have a number of concept 2 ergs on site for fitness training
We have three coach boats available, along with rowing skiffs, two doubles, a four, two eights and an octuple for hire for a small fee.
