Caring for Our Community, One Member at a Time

Caring for Our Neighbors

We strive to give back to the community we call home through our volunteer efforts, partnerships and charitable donations.

Our credit union would not exist without the hard-working people in our community.
Our service activities include community partnerships, charity work, and staff volunteer events.

Our contribution to the community in 2024:

Highlights from
#GFCUCares efforts in 2024:

$3,332 raised

GFCU staff and members donated $3,332 for the Communities in Schools’ Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive, plus hundreds of individual school supply items.

$58,266 raised

We broke our previous record (again) as the 2024 SA Sports Corporate Cup Charity Challenge winners, distributing our donations raised evenly for Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio, Haven for Hope, San Antonio Food Bank, and San Antonio Sports.

$29,238 raised

We raised $29k+ in donations for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – South Central Texas Light The Night 2024 Walk to celebrate survivors, support those battling blood cancer, and remember loved ones lost to blood cancer.

$7,000 donated

We donated $7,000 to Texas Grandparents Raising Grandchildren through the sales of our 2024 #GFCUSelfie Fiesta Medals. We’re proud to support their mission of empowering grandparents raising grandchildren by providing access to resources, information and support.

20,022 meals

We held our inaugural Day of Serving at the San Antonio Food Bank, where our staff members broke two records: the most volunteers in a single session, and a whopping 20,022 meals packed!

92 meals

We once again delivered Thanksgiving meals to all fire stations, the fire prevention office, police substations, downtown police Bike Patrol, Dispatch, and the Bexar County Detention Center as part of our 12th Annual Turkey Express.

Thank you to our community partners
