SlingStudio compatible device list

SlingStudio works well with many wireless devices, cameras, and storage devices. Here's a comprehensive list.

Mac computers supported by
SlingStudio Console for Mac

You can use these models with SlingStudio Console for Mac, but without 802.11 ac support, performance may be affected.

Supported SD cards

SlingStudio supports UHS-I or UHS-II SD cards with at least UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) or above. The size (capacity) of the SD card can be whatever best suits your needs, as long as the speed class criteria are met.

The following SD cards have been tested with SlingStudio:

SanDisk Extreme
SanDisk Extreme Plus
SanDisk Extreme Pro
Samsung Pro
ProGrade Digital SDXC UHS-II

We will continue to update this list as more cards are tested.

How can I test the write speed of my SD card?

The SlingStudio Console app offers an easy way to confirm whether your SD card is capable of write speeds that are fast enough for your project's needs: It's in the Console app's PROJECT SETTINGS dialog box (you see PROJECT SETTINGS either when you create a new project, or if you tap the Settings icon in the upper-left corner of the Console app, then tap Project Settings). Under SAVE PROJECT TO, tap the Test Write Speed link to test your SD card's write speed.

Generally, for bit rates greater than 10 Mbps or for multiple streams, a USB 3.0/SSD drive might be a better choice.

Supported USB storage devices

Any USB 3.0 hard drive that supports write speeds greater than 100 Mbps is recommended. USB 2.0-only devices are not recommended.

These USB 3.0 hard drives/SSD have been tested with SlingStudio:

La Cie Rugged USB-C
Toshiba Canvivo Connect II 1 TB Portable Hard Drive
Samsung T3 Portable SSD drive 250 GB

This list will be updated as more devices are tested. Please check back for updates.
