‘HEM MHOJEM GHOR’
Cat Video’s release of a video film titled ‘Hem Mhojem Ghor’ is a touching story of neglected aged parents, who have sacrificed everything, to give their sons a good education. But the sons, prodded by their respective wives, forget the love and turn ungrateful. Written and directed by S.Caitan, the film has Salu and Sylvester playing the two sons and Olga and Jessica as their scheming wives. Joe Rose plays the old father, Diana is the local gossip and Betty Naz steals the show with a superb performance of the wronged mother. There are lighter moments from Janet, Selvy and Agostinho and good songs performed by Felcy, Marcus Vaz, Keny, Neil, Valushka, Rhodin, Milagres and a trio from Tommy-Mini Mario-Saby. The solo by Prince Jacob is an extra treat. Norman Cardozo and Elffio provide good backing music and photography is by Joywin Fernandes. It is a fine film with a message.
‘OLD IS GOLD’
Liby’s Productions present a video disc of songs and comedy from Socorro de Sta Cruz. ‘Old is Gold’ has some fine songs from various artistes, new and old. Socorro tells of love for pets on ‘Khore Sangati’ the opening song. ‘Dileli Bhas’ from Antonette and Vanessa is about the affection between a grandmother and her grandchild, ‘Muzgaponn’ from Aniceto pays tribute to blowing musicians and ‘Zaddam’ by Valeska-Vanessa-Simran is about nature. Bushka sings ‘Goemkar’, Socorro with Mathew-Nato-Ivan tries to present a tiatr with handicapped artistes and ‘A mchem Daiz’ compares the present to the past. ‘Product’ is a great trio from Socorro-Melisha-Nato. There is comedy from Janet, Sally, Nato, Peter, Kalliz with some others. Neville Pereira provides the music and has also photographed and edited this video presentationn. Worth watching!
‘DEVACHEM NIRMONN’
‘Devachem Nirmonn’ is another release from Cat Video, Margao. Written and directed by Delton, there are 8 songs and some comedy as well. ‘Dilelem Utor’ by Delton is about vows, Marcus Vaz sings ‘Dusreacho Man’ and ‘Devachem Nirmonn’ from Daisy is a song of love and romance. Anthony San performs the impressive ‘Duddvanchi Axea Korinaka’, Jr. Delton sings of lost love on ‘Dhamplem Mogachem Dar’ and Roma joins Delton on the duet ‘Dusro Sangta tem Aikon’. Xavier Gomes renders ‘Dukh Meuta Noxiban’ and Delton winds up with ‘Dubau Pois Dovor’. The comedy revolves around a forgetful baker played by Sally, his noisy wife played by Janet and their helper played by Selvy. Lenoy and Johny provide the music to his film photographed by Spirit.
