Principal of Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim, Fr Simão Diniz, inaugurated the first writers’ conference. The conference was organised by Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA), an institution which promotes Konknni written in the Roman script. Two important sessions were the highlight of the conference.The subject of the first session was Romi Konknni Borovpiam mukha veleo oddchonni ani tankam vatt (Obstacles before the Romi Konknni writers and finding solutions). Willy Goes presented the paper; the panelist included Alvaro Gomes, Brenda Menezes and Pio Esteves.
Pandharinath Lotlikar presented his paper on the subject, Romi Konknni Borovpiam mukha velim avhanam (Challenges before the Romi Konknni writers) where Alexinho Fernandes, William Fernandes and Ashok Chodankar made the panel. There was an open discussion where writers got an opportunity to express their point of view.
