Like all medicines, FPSTATIN GOLD 20 CAPSULE may cause certain side effects, although not everybody gets them

Aspirin is generally advised not to take at later stages of pregnancy as it may increase post-partum bleeding. Although, there are no well controlled human studies, the potential risk to the growing fetus cannot be excluded. Therefore, do not take FPSTATIN GOLD 20 CAPSULE without talking to your doctor if you are pregnant.
• Women of child-bearing potential should use suitable contraceptive method to avoid pregnancy while taking FPSTATIN GOLD 20 CAPSULE.
• If you become pregnant while on therapy with this medicine, stop taking it and consult your doctor immediately.

BREASTFEEDING

It is not known whether Aspirin, Atorvastatin or clopidogrel pass through breast milk or not. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking FPSTATIN GOLD 20 CAPSULE if you are breastfeeding.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

FPSTATIN GOLD 20 CAPSULE does not impair your ability to drive or operate any machines. Consult your doctor before taking FPSTATIN GOLD 20 CAPSULE.

ALCOHOL

KIDNEY

Do not take FPSTATIN GOLD 20 CAPSULE if you are allergic to Clopidogrel, Atorvastatin, Aspirin or Prostaglandin synthetase inhibitors (Ex. naproxen, ibuprofen, mefenamic acid and indomethacin).

LUNGS

Use with Caution

FPSTATIN GOLD 20 CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients with interstitial lung disease or other respiratory problems such as hay fever, asthma or chronic respiratory diseases due to increased risk of bronchospasm and asthma attacks. Consult your doctor before taking FPSTATIN GOLD 20 CAPSULE.

HEART DISEASE

FPSTATIN GOLD 20 CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients with recent ischemic stroke and should be used with caution in patients with high blood pressure. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

FPSTATIN GOLD 20 CAPSULE is generally not recommended for use in children and adolescents (under 18 years of age). Consult your child’s doctor for advice.

• other cholesterol-lowering medicines (Ex. clofibrate, gemfibrozil, fenofibrate, ezetimibe, colestipol)
• other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (Ex. ibuprofen, indomethacin)
• medicines used to manage HIV infection (Ex. glecaprevir/pibrentasvir, delavirdine, ritonavir with lopinavir and/or atazanavir or sofosbuvir with velpatasvir and voxilaprevir)
• st. john's wort (herbal medicine), selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (used to manage depression) Ex. fluoxetine, sertraline, paroxetine or fluvoxamine 
• medicines used to manage stomach ulcers such as antacids (Ex. aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide) and proton-pump inhibitors (Ex. omeprazole or esomeprazole)
• other medicines used during percutaneous coronary intervention (Ex. abciximab, eptifibatide and tirofiban)
• antibiotics (used to manage bacterial infections) such as macrolides (Ex. azithromycin, telithromycin, erythromycin, roxithromycin, and clarithromycin) or fusidic acid
• medicines used to manage epilepsy (Ex. phenytoin, valproic acid, stiripentol)
• medicines used to manage diabetes (Ex. insulin, glipizide, glimepiride)
• ciclosporin or tacrolimus (used to manage graft rejection or manage auto-immune disease)
• azole antifungal agents (used to manage fungal infection) Ex. clotrimazole, fluconazole
• methotrexate (used to manage cancer or other auto-immune diseases)
• lithium (used to manage mental illness)
• corticosteroids (used to manage pain and inflammation) Ex. prednisolone, dexamethasone
• acetazolamide (used to manage or manage altitude sickness)
• mifepristone (used to manage pregnancy)
• metoclopramide (used to manage vomiting)
• deferasirox (used to manage iron overload)

• digoxin, amiodarone and verapamil (used to manage abnormal heart rhythm)

B. Drug - Food interaction:

During management with FPSTATIN GOLD 20 CAPSULE, do not take more than one or two small glasses of grapefruit juice per day because large quantities of grapefruit juice can alter the effects of this medicine.
