SULBACEF 500MG INJECTION is a combination of Cefoperazone and Sulbactam, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to manage various bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections (upper and lower), intra-abdominal infections, septicaemia (serious bloodstream infection), meningitis (inflammation of brain and spinal cord membranes, typically caused by an infection), and skin and soft tissue infections.
It is also used to manage bone and joint infections, gonorrhoea (sexually transmitted bacterial infection), endometritis (inflammation of the uterine lining due to infection), pelvic inflammatory disease (infection of the female reproductive organs), and other infections of the genital tract.
Bacterial infections are caused by the multiplication of specific harmful strains of bacteria anywhere in the body. It is characterized by symptoms such as fever, nausea, vomiting, headache, tiredness, and swollen lymph nodes in the neck, armpits, groin, or elsewhere.
Before receiving SULBACEF 500MG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have impaired kidney function, severe biliary obstruction (blockage of the bile ducts), severe liver disease, or malabsorption conditions, and have a schedule for laboratory tests (such as measuring glucose in the urine).
SULBACEF 500MG INJECTION should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women only if advised by the doctor. Also, it should be used with caution in children and elderly patients.
The most common side effects of receiving SULBACEF 500MG INJECTION are diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Inform your doctor if any of these side effects bother you.

Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects after receiving SULBACEF 500MG INJECTION:
Keep yourself hydrated by drinking lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juices. If the symptom does not improve, inform your doctor.
Apply a hot or cold water bag to your head. Drink plenty of fluids. Try taking rest in a quiet and dark room. Apply pain-relieving balm on your forehead if necessary. Inform your doctor if the headache does not reduce.
Take regular sips of cold drinks. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily, fried, or spicy foods. Do not lie down or sleep immediately after eating. If nausea does not improve, inform your doctor.
SULBACEF 500MG INJECTION should be used during pregnancy only if considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before receiving SULBACEF 500MG INJECTION.
SULBACEF 500MG INJECTION should be used with caution in breast-feeding women, as a small amount of this medicine is excreted in the breast milk. Consult your doctor before receiving SULBACEF 500MG INJECTION.
SULBACEF 500MG INJECTION does not affect your ability to drive or use machinery.
Avoid consuming alcohol while receiving SULBACEF 500MG INJECTION because it may cause flushing, sweating, headaches, and an increase in the heartbeat.
