Introduction About TG TOR F TABLET

TG TOR F TABLET is a combination medication used to manage cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It reduces the levels of bad cholesterol (VLDL and LDL) and triglycerides in the body by modulating the actions of certain enzymes that are involved in lipid metabolism (such as HMG-CoA reductase and lipoprotein lipase). Additionally, it can also reduce the amount of cholesterol absorbed in the body.

Take the tablet at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels of the medication. Avoid drinking large amounts of alcohol while taking this cholesterol medicine. If you are diabetic, work on your blood sugar levels and keep them under control. Before using TG TOR F TABLET, inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, are pregnant or breastfeeding, are taking other medications that may interact with Atorvastatin or Fenofibrate.

It is also not suitable for use in patients who had recently taken an antibiotic called Fusidic acid to manage bacterial infections. Women of childbearing potential must use a suitable contraceptive method to avoid pregnancy while undergoing therapy with this medicine.

The most common side effects of taking TG TOR F TABLET are muscle pain or weakness, headache, abdominal discomfort and elevated liver enzymes. Consult your doctor if they bother you. You must also inform your doctor if you experience severe unexplained muscle pain or weakness with fever, weakness or reddish-brown urine after taking TG TOR F TABLET.

Uses Of TG TOR F TABLET

  • Reduces bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides
  • Increases good cholesterol (HDL)
  • Reduces the risk of cardiovascular complications like heart attacks and strokes

Benefits of TG TOR F TABLET:

For Hyperlipidemia:

TG TOR F TABLET reduces low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, a primary factor in the development of atherosclerosis and plaque buildup in arteries. Lowering LDL cholesterol helps reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes. It increases levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, which helps remove excess LDL cholesterol from the bloodstream.

Benefits of TG TOR F TABLET:

To reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases:

TG TOR F TABLET helps to reduce plaque buildup, it helps lower the risk of atherosclerosis, a leading cause of heart attacks and strokes. It reduces triglycerides to protect heart health and increases HDL cholesterol, higher HDL levels are associated with a lower risk of heart disease and improved vascular health.

How TG TOR F TABLET Works

TG TOR F TABLET is a lipid-lowering medicine. It reduces the levels of bad cholesterol (VLDL and LDL) and triglycerides in the body by modulating the actions of certain enzymes that are involved in lipid metabolism. Additionally, it can also reduce the amount of cholesterol absorbed in the body. By lowering the blood lipid levels, TG TOR F TABLET manages fat deposition within the blood vessels and reduces the chances of heart attack, stroke, atherosclerosis or other circulatory problems.

  • Monitor Liver Function: Regular liver function tests are essential during treatment to ensure safety and avoid potential side effects.
  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to support kidney function and reduce the risk of muscle-related side effects.
  • Avoid Alcohol: Limit or avoid alcohol consumption, as it can increase the risk of liver damage when combined with the medicine.
  • Inform About Other Medications: Let your doctor know about all other medications, supplements, or herbal remedies you’re taking to avoid harmful interactions.
  • Report Muscle Symptoms: Notify your doctor immediately if you experience unexplained muscle pain, weakness, or tenderness, as these could indicate serious side effects.
  • Contraceptive Use: Women should consult their doctor if they are using hormonal contraceptives, as the medication may alter its effectiveness.
  • Avoid During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to potential risks to the baby.

Interactions

A. Drug-Drug interactions:

Before taking TG TOR F TABLET inform to your doctor, if you are taking any of these medicines:

Anticoagulants (e.g., Warfarin)

  • Interaction: Atorvastatin and fenofibrate can enhance Warfarin’s anticoagulant effect by displacing it from plasma proteins or inhibiting its metabolism. This increases the risk of excessive bleeding
  • Effect: Prolonged clotting times, increased risk of bruising, nosebleeds, or internal bleeding

Antibiotics (e.g., Erythromycin)

  • Interaction: Erythromycin, a macrolide antibiotic, inhibits the cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) enzyme, which is responsible for metabolizing atorvastatin. This can lead to increased levels of atorvastatin in the bloodstream, raising the risk of adverse effects.
  • Effect: Elevated atorvastatin levels can cause severe muscle-related side effects, including myopathy (muscle pain or weakness) and, in rare cases, rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown leading to kidney damage).

Contraceptives (e.g., Ethinylestradiol)

  • Interaction: Atorvastatin influence the metabolism of ethinylestradiol by inducing or inhibiting liver enzymes such as cytochrome P450. Fenofibrate’s lipid-modifying action may alter how ethinylestradiol affects cholesterol and triglyceride levels, potentially impacting cardiovascular health.
  • Effect: The combination may increase liver enzyme levels, leading to a higher risk of hepatotoxicity. Atorvastatin might reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives by influencing their metabolism, potentially increasing the risk of unintended pregnancy.

Antidiabetics (e.g., Rosiglitazone)

  • Interaction: Both atorvastatin and rosiglitazone are metabolized by the liver via cytochrome P450 enzymes (CYP3A4 and CYP2C8, respectively). Co-administration may alter drug metabolism, affecting efficacy and side effects. Fenofibrate’s lipid-lowering effects and rosiglitazone’s impact on glucose metabolism may interact, leading to imbalances in lipid and glucose homeostasis.
  • Effect: It may elevate liver enzyme levels, increasing the risk of liver damage

B. Drug- Food Interactions:

Avoid drinking grapefruit juice while taking TG TOR F TABLET as it may increase the risk of side effects.
