ZYRTEC DROPS contains Cetirizine which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-allergic medicines. It is used in infants and in children (aged 2 years and above) to manage symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (such as nasal congestion, itchy nose, repeated sneezing and red, watery and/or itchy eyes) and urticaria (allergic skin condition causing reddish raised patches on the skin with severe itching).
Before taking ZYRTEC DROPS, inform your doctor if your child has any liver problems, kidney problems, epilepsy or difficulty in passing urine. It is strictly not recommended for use in children with severe kidney impairment.
ZYRTEC DROPS may cause excessive drowsiness and tiredness. Therefore, restrict your child from engaging into activities that requires complete concentration (such as running, playing or driving cycle) as a precaution.
Other most common side effects of taking ZYRTEC DROPS are dryness of mouth, headache, tiredness, weakness and sore throat. Consult your doctor if these side effects are troublesome in your child.

Make your child to drink plenty of water and fruit juices. Provide them foods that has high water and fiber content. Artificial saliva can also be used in extreme dryness of mouth. If the condition worsens in your child, contact your doctor.
Sleepiness/Drowsiness:
Allow your child to rest and relax. Make them sleep longer. Restrict them from playing outside or driving cycle on their own. If the symptom bothers you, contact your doctor for advice.
