Syracuse, N.Y. — Forever 21 has reopened at Destiny USA.
The fashion retailer has been closed for renovations since earlier this year.
The store is still located in Destiny USA's Lord & Taylor wing, but has cut its footprint from two floors to one. It's now located completely on the mall's second floor.
Many other Forever 21 locations have been downsizing as well.
The chain is planning a grand reopening at Destiny on Saturday with free Forever 21 gift cards for the first 100 customers plus other prizes.
Forever 21 has over 700 stores in dozens of countries. It specializes in low-price apparel and its sales have been slowing after a stretch of fast growth and expansion, which included opening big stores in major markets like New York City and Las Vegas, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Elsewhere in Upstate New York, it has locations at Walden Galleria near Buffalo, Crossgates Mall near Albany and Eastview Mall near Rochester.
The company has been exploring restructuring options in recent months, but its founder wants to avoid bankruptcy.
