Did Queen Latifah come out at Gay Pride event? She says she didn't

If Queen Latifah ever decided to share details of private life with fans, one would suspect she'd be unequivocal about her sexuality. So we're not surprised that the vague "Y'all my peeps" she told a crowd during a Long Beach gay pride event last month was not the coming out moment some made it out to be -- or hoped it was.

"That definitely wasn't the case," Latifah tells Entertainment Weekly. "I've never dealt with the question of my personal life in public. It's just not gonna happen."

But she also tells the magazine she loves her gay fans: “I know that the most important thing and the only thing I have to give is love. When people are going through hatred and bullying, the biggest thing to fight that is love. So that’s all I encouraged my audience to do that night: to share their light and share their love. Period.”

Celebrities who have come in in the last year include "Big Bang Theory" star Jim Parsons, Zachary Quinto of "Star Trek," Matt Bomer of "Magic Mike" and "White Collar," and Sean Maher of "Firefly" and "The Playboy Club." And let's not forget the Green Lantern.
