Camden football makes it a Long day for Salem with shutout victory for first win

The only thing Braheem Long Jr. didn’t do was coach the team.

The senior on the Camden High football team blocked a punt, recovered a fumble, returned a kickoff for a score and returned an interception for a score in leading the Panthers to a 34-0 victory over Salem on Saturday in Salem.

The Panthers improved to 1-1 with their first win of the season. The Rams fell to 0-2 under rookie head coach Daniel Mendoza.

Camden returns to action at 7 p.m. Friday when it hosts Sterling. Salem will head to Pleasantville for a 7 p.m. meeting Friday.
