PATERSON -- Three men were arrested on robbery charges after police found a set of left-behind getaway car keys in home they allegedly broke into this morning, according to a report in the Record.
The keys led investigators to a house where they found the three suspects sitting inside a taxi, the report said.
The three armed suspects broke into home on East 19th Street shortly before 3 a.m., and woke up the resident. They demanded cash while pointing their weapons at him, according to the report. After the resident attempted to fight back, the three men beat him with their weapons and ran out with a small amount of money, the report said.
Responding police found the dropped car keys, pushed the alarm button, and located the suspects' car, the report said. After running the vehicle's registration, the report said authorities went to the address on file and found three men -- Staloa Johnson, 19, of Garfield; Jahan Hendley, 27, of Clifton; and Jamar Hendley, 27, of Passaic -- sitting outside a home in a taxi cab.
The report said they were arrested and face robbery, burglary and weapons charges.
