New Jersey Natural Gas gives utility customers 47 percent price break

WALL — A major New Jersey natural gas utility says it extending a bill credit that will give its customers a price break of nearly 47 percent on their April gas bills.

New Jersey Natural Gas said today that the adjustment was made possible by lower wholesale natural gas prices.

The utility's customers also got bill credits in February and March.

The utility says an average customer using 73 therms in April will get a credit of about $48. Customers who budget their payments through the year will see the credits in August, when their accounts are reconciled with actual charges for the year.

New Jersey Natural Gas serves more than 486,000 customers in Monmouth, Ocean, Middlesex, Morris and Burlington counties.
