Valley Brook Ave. Lyndhurst (south end) will be closed for improvements beginning April 28. This road work is projected to conclude in 3 – 4 weeks.
To access the NJSEA/Richard W. DeKorte Park/Meadowlands Environment Center during this period, you need to detour to Disposal Road.
- Enter “Disposal Road, North Arlington” in your navigation system (car or smart phone); or
- Click here to use the Google Maps to navigate the detour.
NOTE: The signpost at the top of Disposal Road is labeled “Silkowski Rd.”. Silkowski Rd. leads into Disposal Rd.
Once you are on Disposal Road, follow it until the end and turn right into DeKorte Park.

Nature Walk

The Bergen County Audubon Society leads a walk through this wonderful gem that includes the Marsh Discovery Trail, a boardwalk loop along the Shorebird Pool. They’ll be keeping an eye out for migrant shorebirds, songbirds and raptors.

Nature Walk
Losen Slote Creek Park, Little Ferry
Wednesday, May 14, 10 a.m. to noon
Traverse one of the Meadowlands’ last remaining lowland forested areas with the Bergen County Audubon and be on the lookout for migratory warblers and other songbirds.
Trails may be muddy, boots are highly recommended. Park in the lot adjacent to the soccer field on Mehrhof Road.

Endangered Species Day Walk
