After the botched response to Hurricane Katrina which included the confiscation of some firearms, the State of Louisiana passed laws relating to firearms during a state of emergency. Those laws clearly grant Louisiana municipalities the power to restrict gun sales during an emergency. A week ago, the mayor of New Orleans, LaToya Cantrell, issued a proclamation relating to the COVID19 pandemic.
