.

are working jointly to prepare a new map of 60 House districts, 30 Senate districts and five congressional districts based on new population numbers provided by the 2010 Census. Every 10 years, the state must redraw the boundaries.
If the Legislature can't come to an agreement, the task falls to the secretary of state.
The schedule of hearings is as follows:

March 18 -- La Grande, Burns
March 19 -- Bend
In addition to meeting in those communities, the committees will set up video links in nearby cities, where residents can participate remotely.
