Hartville isn’t connected to any major highways, and that means while this town doesn’t have any major industry, the new designation will hopefully pull in more people to come see the seat of Wright County in the coming days.

A new statue and plaque have been erected in the town to celebrate this big change to a small town. Every 10 years the center changes with the major decade census that takes place, and has only moved just under 12 miles since its last designation, which was in Plato. This is the smallest shift in the center position in a century, and the center point has been held by Missouri since 1980.
