Home Depot will be opening a new location at 2881 East Walnut Street in Pasadena on March 11.
Slated to be a 113,580 square feet, the new store will have between 275 and 300 employees, including “just over 200 associates who are new to the company,” according to a March 9 news release.
“The store has several features the company is rolling out as part of its multi-year, $11 billion investment to enhance the customer and associate experience,” the release says.
“It features an optimized, more flexible checkout and customer service area, specialty showroom, the latest displays and amazing new storage areas for our customers’ Buy Online Pickup In Store orders,” which have become more popular over the course of the pandemic.
“With more and more customers buying online, we needed more space to stage orders and better support the increased demand,” a company spokesperson said via email. “We took advantage of underutilized space to create more storage solutions behind the return/service area. This allows us to simplify the order process and reduce pickup times for customers. We also have introduced self-service lockers for customers to pick up their online orders.”
The store is currently hiring. Anyone who’s interested in working there can apply in person at the store or by visiting careers.homedepot.com.
The Pasadena location is one of six new stores planned for 2021, the Home Depot spokesperson said.
