How to find us
The Department of Physics is spread across several buildings on two main sites: Parks Road and Keble Road. You can use the University of Oxford interactive map.
Parks Road (OX1 3PU):
- Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics
- Beecroft (Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics)
- Clarendon Laboratory (Atomic and Laser Physics, Condensed Matter Physics and professional and support services)
- Robert Hooke building (Atomic and Laser Physics)
Keble Road (OX1 3RH):
- Denys Wilkinson building (Astrophysics and Particle Physics)
Travelling to the Department of Physics
By train: the Department of Physics is a 15-20-minute walk from the train station
By car: many streets in Oxford are closed to traffic and parking is severely limited; it is advised to use on the Park and Ride sites and get the bus to and from the city centre; the Department of Physics is a 10-minute walk from the city centre.
