How to Prep your Roses
Here's the right way to prep and clean your rose stems for arranging! • After removing the packaging, taking one stem at a time, strip off all leaves and thorns. I like to leave a few leaves at the top if the leaves are healthy and lush. *I love these rose strippers from Amazon!* • Remove outer guard petals. Not every Rose will have these, but you will be able to tell if the petals are slightly crinkled. • “Massaging” or fluffing the base of the rose will help create air in between the petals encouraging the flower to open! • Blow (aggressively) into the center of the rose to help remove suction between layers of petals that may also slow opening. • *Most important step* give each rose stem a nice sharp cut and repeat this daily (while changing the water) to extend the life of yo
