Norse Myths & Legends; Paintings of Nordic Mythology & a brief introduction to Viking Mythology featuring contemporary Illustrations by Howard David Johnson
Fafnir, the Storm Giant These myths and legends have some element to truth to them. These evil giants were the offspring of the daughters of men and the fallen angels. Through the generations and people race, these stories became legends and myths, but they did originate somewhere!
Ymir- Norse myth: a primeval being who was born from venom that dripped from the river Élivágar and lived in the grassless void Ginnungagap. Ymir birthed a male and female from his armpits, and his legs begat a six-headed being. The gods Odin, Vili, and Vé killed him and fashioned the Earth from his flesh, from his blood the ocean, from his bones the hills, from his hair the trees, from his brains the clouds, from his skull the heavens, and from his eyebrows Midgard, or earth.
