Saint Hildegard was a medieval mystic, prophet and visionary. Also an Abbess, composer of music and writer of books on spirituality, visions, medicine, health and nutrition, and nature. She corresponded with many ordinary and powerful people and was a critic of secular and religious leaders. Ahead of her times she was outspoken in an age when it was unheard of for women to be so.
