Americsn;A trooper of Von Heer's Corps of Provost Light Dragoons , 1780-1781. Originally formed as a military police/provost unit, in the latter part of the war they served as General Washington's mounted life guard.

Lee's Light Dragoons: Uniquely outfitted by General Lee, this unit of cavalry wore green jackets, riding breeches, riding boots, and the iconic helmet of all Dragoons, the Tarleton Helmet, named after Dragoon commander Sir Banastre Tarleton. They were equipped with swords for close combat, but also used carbines for mounted shooting.

AWI Americans: McLane's Rangers: Merged with General Lee's Light Dragoons to form the 2nd Partisan Corps, this infantry unit had their outfit modified by Lee so they looked similar to his Dragoons, while still retaining their role as infantry. They wore purple uniforms and trousers, shoes, and identical helmets to the Dragoons.They were equipped with muskets with bayonets for close combat. By Don Troiani. (www.dontroiani.com)
