This is a new painting which describes the ceremonies of the metztli or “month” of Etzalcualizatli, “the Eating of Maize and Beans, which is the metztli we are currently in. We are well into the rainy season in Mexico, and the corn is growing tall in the fields. Therefore, Etzalcualiztli is a time of abundance.
