A museum quality ancient Roman gold ring, circa 400 AD. This hollow ring is bezel-set with a garnet intaglio of Hippocamp – a fish-tailed horse that was considered the horse of Poseidon in Greco-Roman mythology. Poseidon was the god of the sea, earthquakes, and horses. The ring is elaborately decorated with applied gold wire and triangular-shaped beaded designs. Approximate ring size 6.25 – 6.5 This ring is not sizable.
