Global Biomes data were obtained from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Terrestrial Ecoregions of the World dataset, in February, 2006. The data depict global terrestrial vegetation biodiversity patterns for the world's 825 ecoregions and 14 biomes. The data are distributed in vector format, which were created to be used at the scale of 1:1 million. CIESIN converted the data to raster grid format at a 30 arc-second resolution and clipped to match the extent of the GRUMPv1.
