I recently had a wonderful time with my family in Norway, where the idea of making this shawl came to my mind. I wanted to give it a name which will always remind me of this beautiful country, and Solveig seems to be the best choice. The shawl begins with the classic triangular shape worked in garter stitch and after a section of eyelets and bobbles, it is finished with a beautiful border of Japanese lace. The scalloped edge is formed by the lace pattern, so you don’t need to work short rows or any other methods of creating such beautiful edge.
