A diamond and cultured pearl necklace, the Victorian diamond centre-piece with an old brilliant-cut diamond centre, estimated to weigh 1.5 carats, surrounded by two rows of old-cut diamond estimated to weigh a further total of 5.2 carats, all cut down-set in silver to yellow gold back, circa 1890, strung with three rows of cultured pearls each measuring 8.5-9mm in diameter, to yellow gold cylindrical-clasp, the centre-piece measuring approximately 2.5cm in diameter, accompanied by detachable broch fitting, the necklace measuring 33.5 x 2.5cm, gross weight 114 grams. A glittering Victorian brooch/pendant. This versatile piece has both a pendant and a brooch fitting, allowing it to be worn on a ribbon, chain, or pinned to a garment for added sparkle. The diamonds scintillate wonderfully and catch the light in an enchanting way, instantly drawing attention to the wearer. This piece was made in the last decade of Queen Victoria’s reign and exemplifies the elegance of the period. It comes from Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. Thisnecklace is in excellent condition.
