Angela Burkhardt-Guallini was born in 1953 in Switzerland. She opened her own studio in 1978 & after a long stay in Hong Kong, she now works exclusively with the Neriage technique. Neriage uses either naturally occurring colored clays or light-colored clays that are stained. Neriage is done by laminating different colored clays together & throwing them on a wheel to develop a swirling & spiraling blend of the clays.Objects can be left with the swirl pattern, or altered by cutting the surface
