The Shadow (Of The Pulp Novels)

In 1930 magazine publisher Street and Smith sponsored a radio show promoting stories from 'Detective Story Magazine' with a fictitious narrator; The Shadow. People were asking for "that Shadow Detective Magazine" so S&S created one. Walter B. Gibson wrote 282 of the 325 Shadow novels, with 27 by Theodore Tinsley, 15 by Bruce Elliott, & 1 by Lester Dent which was later rewritten by Gibson for publication. The Shadow pulps ran from 04/01/31 'The Living Shadow' to Summer/49 'Whispering Eyes'.
