Jim Edwards Hi folks, these glazes are all made with Mason stains and Opulence Matte White. I buy 25 pounds of Matte White then make small batches with various stains. I make the glaze up 3 gallons water to 25 pounds dry glaze. My samples shown are 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of dry stain to 100 milliliter a of liquid glaze. The clay is 112 from Midsouth. I buy all my materials from Tammy and Danielle. PS, I use an old blender to mix all ingredients, then sieve it through a small sieve from Midsouth...

"using an underglaze of 3–4 parts Gerstley borate to one part Mason stain by volume. This recipe is really more commonly used as an overglaze, but it works fine on leather-hard pots as well. Because there is no clay or opacifier added, the color is more intense than in a traditional underglaze or slip."
