Ilomba- African myth: a sea serpent creature that is provided to a person by a witch doctor. It would assume the face of its new owner. Usually, it's used to attack the person's rival or enemy. If it is killed, the owner is killed, and vice-versa.

Mamlambo- Zulu myth: a horse bodied sea creature with a fish tail. It supposedly killed 9 people and its said to eat the faces and brains of its victims. It is thought to be a mosasaur.
