a 1904 H.K. Porter locomotive. One of four shipped to consolidated gold mining north of Dawson city in the Yukon. It's called a "tank locomotive", with the water tank over the boiler. This type of engine was used to haul things back and forth over short distances. It was operated without a tender. A small supply of coal was kept in the cab. [Ontario steam heritage museum].
