Julian called me a freak, and Jack punched him, getting himself suspended for two days. My mom was considering pulling me from school, but I stays and Jack apologizes for what he said. During the remainder of the year, Julian continues to bully me, leaving threatening notes in Jack and I's lockers, and we wrote notes back using humor.
In the beginning of the school year, Jack Will helps me fit in, but then on Halloween when he didn't know that I was listening, Jack told his “friends” that he would die if he had a face like me. When I heard these words, I decided to sit alone at lunch every day. During the school year, Summer and I become really good friends. After Jack and I are reunited as friends, we become an invincible friend group.
At the end of the year, I received an award, the “Henry Ward Beecher” medal, something given to a student who show something exemplary throughout the year. I received a standing ovation, and then I did something that I have never been willing to do before, I took pictures with other people. At the end of the ceremony, Everyone comes back to my house for a party and my mom whispers in my ear saying that I was always a wonder.
For Summer, she always defended me when she was criticized for hanging out with me, but Jack takes much longer to develop the friendship bond. I experienced all the good things about having a friend, but at times I refused to return the sacrifice. Sometimes I even denied the friendship when things were really tough, but in the end, I learned the true values of friendship even when it isn’t easy.
During Halloween, I was supposed to wear a Boba Fett costume, but I didn't. Instead, I wore a different costume, with a mask that covers my face. I am able to walk around the school, and no one recognizes me. In my homeroom, I overhear Jack telling Julian that he would kill himself if he looked like me. I then decided that I will quit school, and I told Summer about what happened.
