Our Fantastic Staff

Alfie is helping out Dr. Hempstead in our Ophthalmology department today! He's been checking out eyes through our specialized magnifying equipment. Keep up the good work, Alfie! #GCVS #AlfietheElf #hardatwork
Alfie has been observing in our ICU this morning, and is learning so much! Our Critical Care department and ICU are staffed by a group of compassionate and highly trained doctors and technicians 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They are here to provide advanced medical support for all the needs that may arise for your pet. ‪#‎GCVS‬ ‪#‎CriticalCare‬ ‪#‎ICU‬ ‪#‎AlfietheElf‬
After a careful exam by Alfie, this sweet Golden Retriever gets a clean bill of health! Ascultation (listening to and evaluating) of the heart and lungs is an important part of every patient's exam. #GCVS #AlfietheElf #ascultation #gesundheit
We'd like to give a big Welcome Back to our Dermatology supervisor, Kelly! She returned this week after being on maternity leave with her sweet little boy. Our new little helper elf, Alfie, has been giving her a hand to make sure she has a great first week back #GCVS #Dermatology #AlfietheElf
We are excited to announce that the name of the new GCVS elf is... Alfie!! Alfie has been hard at work behind the scenes at the hospital, starting with helping our surgery technicians monitor anesthesia! Each of our patients has a licensed veterinary technician monitoring anesthesia for the entirety of their surgery, as well as their recovery, before the case is turned over to the recovery nurses (also licensed technicians!). #GCVS #AlfietheElf #Surgery

Our Surgery department is excited to welcome Purina! The Purina representatives were able to give our staff the latest and greatest on treatments and products for our awesome patients. We are always looking for new and exciting technologies to be able to treat our patients with the very best veterinary medicine has to offer!

Congratulations to Rose, who works in our Surgery department and celebrated her 20th anniversary with the GCVS family this month! Rose received a pair of awesome boots to celebrate her anniversary. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication, Rose, and happy anniversary!
Did you know that GCVS has a dual trained Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and Registered MRI Technologist on staff? After working for GCVS for over ten years, our technician, Marie, pursued her interest in becoming certified for Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Sonography. Since graduation, Marie has helped many patients in our diagnostic imaging department with her knowledge and skills. Great job, Marie!
Another year has passed and it is time to say farewell to our Internal Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging Interns. We wish them well as they enter into the next phase of their training and will miss all of their hard work and shining personalities. GCVS would also like to congratulate Dr. Rebecca Norton for the successful completion of her three year residency!
We think our technicians are the best! In our surgery department, Gilda, the ICU supervisor, spent several hours sitting with Nani after Dr. Suzanne Hunter performed surgery on her jaw and salivary gland. Nani calmed right down after her friend Gilda came to hang out with her!
Our staff member, Kate, fell completely in love with Hugo, the sweet Labradoodle in our Ophthalmology department this week. Luckily, Hugo's vision was not impaired by the age-related changes in his eyes, and he was sent away with a clean bill of ocular health!
