Charles Bronson (born Charles Dennis Buchinsky; November 3, 1921 – August 30, 2003) an American film and television actor, born to a Polish-Lithuanian immigrant father and a Lithuanian-American mother. In 1943, Bronson enlisted in the United States Army Air Forces and served as a B-29 aerial gunner as a Superfortress crewman with the 39th Bombardment Group based in Guam. He was awarded a Purple Heart for wounds received during his service. Best known for his "Death Wish" series.
