Skinny trees are still a Christmas tree. So they should maintain that triangle shape. I notice a lot of times when someone is decorating a skinny tree they get a little out of control with the tree topper and all of a sudden the tree topper is bigger than the base of the tree. You can do whatever you want, but in my opinion, what makes a skinny tree look so amazing is when the shape is honored.
