Art illustration - Oceans & Seas - Hogfish: (Lachnolaimus maximus) Are fishes of the nativity of the western Atlantic Ocean, It is found from Nova Scotia (Canada), Bermuda and the northern Gulf of Mexico to the north of South America. The males can reach 91 cm in total length and 11 kg in weight. It has a very elongated snout that it uses to look for crustaceans buried in the sediment. The dorsal fin usually consists of three or four long spines followed by a series of shorter spines.
