Lecture Notes: Early Indian and Chinese Civilizations

On this map, we can see the relation of Harappa, and Mohenjo Daro, the two major cities of the Indus River Valley Civilizations, two the Ganges and the Indus River. The two cities were formed around these two rivers, because they provided fertile soil for agriculture. The existence of the civilizations in the Indian subcontinent is almost entirely owed to these two rivers.
