The exhibit illustrates surgery of the anterior cervical spine at the C5-6 and C6-7 levels to treat herniated discs. After exposing C5-C7, annulotomy is preformed with distraction and disc material is removed with a rongeur. The posterior longitudinal ligament is released. Next the end plates are decorticated and osteophytes are removed. Mobi-C is placed into C5-6 and C6-7 disc spaces to complete the surgery.
