Patriotic Taco salad - layer small round tortilla chips in the bottom of a glass pan. Layer cheese (I used Colby/Monterey shredded) layer of prepared taco meat, more cheese, shredded lettuce. Then to make the flag I used cherry tomatoes cut in half for the red stripes. I used mozzarella cheese for the white stripes. Corner stars dye chopped onions (blue food coloring overnight), then plain chopped onions for the stars. Finally I placed small tortilla chips around the entire dish.
