If your travel to France takes you to Alsace, please, do not miss the Alsace Wine Route. It is so much fun! You drive through the most gorgeous and authentic small villages, visit wine maker and their caves. Wonderful land for lovers of white wine ... and as long as you are there ... you can visit the Kirsh makers :) It is a traditional alcohol from the area. You can either do the tour by bus or have your own car (and than choose which caves you wish to visit -2 days recommended).
