While pursuing a prolific solo career, Jacob Miller became the lead singer for reggae group Inner Circle with whom he recorded until his death in 1980 in a car accident in Kingston, Jamaica. He was 27. Miller was the cousin of UK reggae artist Maxi Priest.

During his career, he recorded more than 75 albums and had the 1979 UK No.14 single 'Money In My Pocket.' Bob Marley cited Brown as his favourite singer, naming him ‘The Crown Prince of Reggae."

Maxi Priest (born Max Alfred Elliot), British reggae vocalist of Jamaican descent. He is known for singing reggae fusion (reggae music with R+B influence), and became one of the most successful reggae fusion acts of all-time. He is one of only two British reggae acts (along with UB40) to have an American Billboard #1. His hits include Close to You, Set the Night to Music (with Roberta Flack), & That Girl (with Shaggy). He is cousin to Jacob Miller, frontman of the reggae group Inner Circle.
