Jan Karon's wonderful fictitious town in North Carolina, based on the town of Blowing Rock where she lived while writing her serial tales for a local newspaper. These evolved into the Mitford series of books. I didn't just fall in love with the books and all her wonderful characters (who came to feel like family and friends) ...but I wanted to move to Mitford...wanted there to really be such a place left in this world. So have a lot of other people-over 16 million of her books have sold.

Esther's Marmalade Cake
The Mitford Series - The cake the whole town was hooked on...Esther's Orange Marmalade Layer Cake... Think the cake was fictitious too...but so many people wanted a recipe, someone came up with one. Find it in the Mitford cookbook.
