1985 Pikes Peak Hill Climb - French World Rally Championship legend Michele Mouton set an all time record in her Audi Quattro at the 1985 race. Mouton commented “It was my WRC car, the short wheelbase Group B Audi S1, but modified. We worked a lot on altitude and electrics. I had 600bhp – only 70bhp more than my WRC car." Mouton's wins in 1984 & 1985 at the world's most famous hillclimb profoundly impacted the race - all wheel drive and aerodynamics became the driving force in car design.
