This large hand-painted wooden batea or dough bow is from Mexico. It is painted with a depiction of Our Lady of Guadalupe, or Virgen de Guadalupe. The Virgen is the patroness of Mexico, the Americas, and the Philippines. This batea is completely “Hecho a mano.” It measures approximately 19.75 inches high, 8.5 inches wide, and almost 1.5” deep. It can be hung on a wall or set upright on a mantle or table.

I had to tear out my ceiling for this, it's about 8 and a half feet tall. It was on its side until I could have my family room remodeled and vaulted.
