Referee Will Finnie has requested there is a 10am pitch inspection ahead of Plymouth Argyle's away League One game against Barnsley tomorrow.
The news comes amid concerns that 'extremely cold' temperatures could leave the pitch at Oakwell with ice on it, even though there is undersoil heating being used, while a gritting operation is being carried out surrounding the stadium.
It was forecast to get as low as minus nine degrees centigrade in Barnsley overnight into Saturday, coming 24 hours after heavy snowfall.

Four coaches of Argyle supporters are set to leave Home Park at 6.15am tomorrow, with many others either travelling in the morning or having already made the trip to South Yorkshire today.
Barnsley posted a story on their official club website late this afternoon which explained they had 'made significant efforts today to ensure tomorrow’s game can go ahead.'
It said: "A snow plough has helped clear the South Stand car park and surrounding areas of the stadium, along with a group of volunteers and BFC staff members.
"Furthermore, the pavements around the perimeter and inside the stadium have been gritted to help clear the existing snow and prevent freezing.
"Temperatures are set to be extremely cold overnight, posing the potential issue of ice on the playing surface and around the stadium.
"A gritting operation will begin this evening, continue at sunrise and during the match tomorrow to prevent surfaces becoming slippy for pedestrians and vehicles.
"With regards to the playing surface, the pitch has today been cleared and has been exposed to UV from lighting rigs. Moreover, the undersoil heating has been on for large periods of the day and will continue to be so until kick-off.
"A pitch inspection will take place at 10am tomorrow morning, at the referee’s request. We will update supporters immediately following that.
"The club would like to extend its gratitude to staff and volunteers, including our club partner, Rapid Response Telecoms, for their efforts today. We thank fans from both clubs for their patience and understanding."
The Argyle squad travelled by team coach to their South Yorkshire hotel today, leaving at 11.30am after holding a final training session before the game against Michael Duff's in-form Reds.
Barnsley still have 13 league games to play this season, two more than Argyle, so are already facing a fixture backlog.
Should the game be postponed tomorrow the only likely alternative date for it to be rearranged could be the final Tuesday of the season on May 2.
